Montana State University American Indian Hall

The LEED Gold American Indian Hall will serve the MSU Native American community and as a bridge to other cultures. As energy and sustainability advisor, Point Energy shepherded the achievement of an extremely energy efficient, nearly all-electric building, with a well-insulated building envelope, including R-45 walls and roof, and high performance insulating glass. The mechanical and electrical systems include all-LED lighting, ground-source heat pump heating and cooling, and a dedicated outside air system with heat recovery, which provides optimal air quality. Finally, with solar PV offsetting over 20% of energy use, the project exemplifies how a building can tread lightly on the earth, cost less to operate, and provide a resilient community benefit for many generations.
