San Francisco State University Holloway Street Mixed Use Student Housing
Point Energy was the design MEP engineer and sustainability consultant for the new mixed use student housing complex at San Francisco State University. The project aims to meet the goals of the 2030 Challenge early, setting a new precedent for the university while the next generation of students learns about sustainability by living in it. Our approach was to “design out” most of the heating loads using Passive House principles, and then supply reduced remaining energy needs with electricity, allowing the complex to be completely powered with clean renewable energy. The project will also be exemplary for water efficiency and reuse, natural cooling and sustainable landscaping.
